How will you contribute to this? As the Lead Data Scientist you are the one who sets up the strategy of the Data Science team, in alignment with our vision and product strategy. You are responsible for the performance, scalability and architectural setup of our data science stack. As a team lead, you will guide the growing team of (currently) four data scientists in the daily operations, personal development and the workload planning with our development teams.

What else will you do?
* Further build on the internal vision on data science, AI and Machine Learning development
* Lead the decision making in building scalable and maintainable features and data operations.
* Ensuring the correctness, privacy and data security
* Manage the budget, plan capacity of the team and grow the team in the future
* Engage with (larger) customers during RfP processes
* Be the point of contact for data related questions from clients

Candidate/profile

We try to keep it realistic, but if we must describe our perfect candidate, it would be someone with 6+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, who understands Mapiq's mission to build great places to work. Ready for a leading role?
* You have a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Econometrics or another relevant beta study.
* You are fluent in English, some Dutch would be great
* You have working experience as a team lead
* You have experience in setting up a sound data science architecture, including DTAP and deployment pipelines
* Experienced in working on cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure is a big plus)
* Have an understanding of and experience with Machine Learning / Neural Networks / AI
* Are analytical, accurate and structured, you can see projects through from start to completion
* Have extensive programming experience
* Experience with building on business intelligence software: Power BI (or similar like Tableau)

It would be even better if you can include some of the skills below:
* Having experience in working in a product company
* Programming experience in Python and/or C#
* Comfortable with DevOps practices (Git, CI/CD, Azure DevOps or similar)
