Single Sign-On (SSO) is an authentication process that allows users to access multiple applications and services with a single set of credentials. This streamlined approach enhances user experience by eliminating the need to remember various usernames and passwords for different platforms. When a user logs in through an Identity Provider (IdP), their credentials are verified, and a security token is issued. This token is then used to gain access to various Service Providers (SPs) without requiring re-authentication. SSO not only simplifies the login process but also improves security by reducing the likelihood of weak or duplicated passwords.
